Ingredients:
250ml unsweetened almond milk (or use milk of your choice)
70g oats (use gluten free if preferred)
1 medium-sized sweet apple, chopped
1⁄2 tspn ground cinnamon
1⁄4 tspn mixed spice or ground nutmeg
20g vanilla flavour whey or rice protein powder (optional)
to serve:
a few apple slices
5g pecans
Method:
Place the oats, apple and milk in a saucepan over a medium heat.
Stir well and cook for 4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add more milk during cooking time, if required.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow to stand for 5 minutes.
Add the dried spices and stir well.
Add the protein powder (if using) and stir rapidly, until smooth.
Serve topped with apple and nuts.
Consume immediately.
